The Texture of London
梅雨が明けかけた6月の下旬。
私たちはロンドンにいた。
It was late June, just as Japan’s rainy season was coming to an end.
We found ourselves in London.
この時期、ヨーロッパは夏至の時期がピークを迎え、日照時間が長く、21時を過ぎても空はまだ明るい。
日本の生活では経験することのない夜の明るさに胸が高鳴り、街は夜更けまで賑わっている。
暗く寒い冬を終え、みんな夏の日差しを待ち侘びていたのだと肌で感じた。
Around this time of year, Europe reaches the height of midsummer.
The days are long, and even after 9 p.m., the sky still glows softly.
That unfamiliar brightness of the night thrilled us—the city was alive well past midnight, filled with people savoring the fleeting summer.
After the dark and cold winter, it felt as though everyone had been waiting for this sunlight.
コレクションリサーチという大きな旅の目的を両手に抱え、少しでも多くを持ち帰ろうと、数日間血眼になりながら、目には見えない「感覚」を捕まえようとした。
日本には無い色やテクスチャーに触れ、匂いや音、違った感触温度を体で感じた。
アンティークの趣は、そこに根付いた時間の重なりからデザインの本質へと生まれ変わり、私たちのものづくり欲を掻き立てた。
We went on this significant research trip for our collection, trying to absorb as much as possible.
For several days, we focused intensely on capturing invisible “sensations.”
We experienced colors and textures not found in Japan, and felt new scents, sounds, and temperatures with our own bodies.
Antiques, layered with time and history, revealed the essence of design itself.
They stirred our creative spirit and inspired our approach to making things.
この旅で吸収した言葉にできない「感覚」を冷めないうちに表現しなければと、秋冬のシューティングも滞在中に行った。
イギリス特有の淡く青みがかった光が背景に差し込み、いつもとは少し違うENOFの新しい顔がちらっと覗いた気がした。
現地で構成されたシューティングチームは、拙い言葉のコミュニケーションと短時間のセッションの中でも、初めてとは思えないほど私たちの「好き」を創り上げてくれた。
To preserve those fleeting sensations before they faded, we decided to shoot our Autumn/Winter collection while still in London.
The soft, bluish light unique to the city quietly seeped into the background, revealing a new side of ENOF we had never seen before.
Even with limited time and simple communication, our local team intuitively understood what we loved and brought it to life.
撮影は、配慮と思いやりが飛び交う温かな現場で行われ、1日の終わりに皆で囲んだ食卓では、ワインを片手に夢心地でハグを交わした。
The shoot took place in a warm, thoughtful atmosphere—and by the end of the day, we gathered around the table, sharing wine and heartfelt hugs.
この旅は私たちに新しいエッセンスを宿してくれ、また目の前にずっとあったのに気づけなかった美しさにも気づかせてくれた。
歴史を宿った文化の連なりも、現代の文化も、紙に液体を垂らしたようにじんわりと私たちの感性に染み込んでいった。
旅を終え、私たちがENOFを通してデザインを発信していく意味をまた少しアップデートできたような気がする。
ゆっくりではあるけど、また少しずつカタチに変えて、着てくれる人にも私たちのささやかな「感覚(おもい)」が伝わってほしいと心から願った。
This journey gave us fresh inspiration and helped us notice the beauty that had always been in front of us but went unnoticed.
Both the historical culture and contemporary new culture gradually soaked into our senses, like ink spreading on paper.
After the trip, we felt that the meaning of sharing our designs through ENOF had grown a little clearer.
Slowly, we will transform these feelings into tangible forms, and we sincerely hope that the people who wear our pieces can feel even a small part of the “sensations” we experienced.
